Olmak anlamıyla fiilimsi olarak da kullanılabilir:

have: sahip olmak (çok anlamı var, derslerde özel olarak işlendi.)
- I have a car.

- Do you have a minute?
do: yapmak (bir işi, ödevi, görevi vs. yapmak)
- Did you do your homework?
- What did you do when you saw him like that?
- My father is doing business with my uncles nowadays.
- What are you doing today?
make: yapmak (genelde birkaç şeyi kullanarak ortaya bir şey çıkartmak şeklinde; produce)
- He made a chocolate cake. (bazı yemeklerle de kullanılır)

say: söylemek, demek

- She is 30 years old.
Not: ‘year’ genelde çoğul kullanılır ancak 1 yıl ise mutlaka tekil kullanırız: He is 1 year old gibi.
people: insanlar, kişiler (person – people)
